Welcome to Belmont
In San Mateo County, Belmont is located halfway between San Francisco and San Jose. Belmont has a population of approximately 26,000 residents. It is known for its wooded hills, views of the San Francisco Bay, and stretches of open space, Belmont is a quiet residential community amidst the culturally and technologically rich Bay Area.
Belmont is home to the historic landmark, Ralston Hall, which was built by William Chapman Ralston (founder of Bank of California). Ralston Hall is located on the Notre Dame de Namur University’s campus. It was built around a villa formerly owned by Count Cipriani, an Italian aristocrat. The locally famous "Water Dog Lake" is also found in the foothills and highlands of Belmont.
