Redwood City is the third-largest city in San Mateo County with 85,992 residents. The city enjoys an average of 255 sunny days per year and is awarded the slogan: “Climate Best by Government Test”. Redwood City is rich in history and is home to the San Mateo County History Museum, which is in the county’s old courthouse. Redwood City is situated in the center of the San Francisco Peninsula where it sits 25 miles south of San Francisco, and approximately 27 miles north of San Jose. It is approximately 19 square miles in land area with a mean elevation of 15 feet above sea level. The community blends residential, industrial, and commercial elements in a largely urban environment. Redwood City is easily accessible from Highways 101 & 280 and extends from the San Francisco Bay shoreline to the hillsides of the Santa Cruz mountains.
